Working with children has been the most fulfilling opportunity I have had all my life. I’m going into my fourth year of experience now working within the education field and I would not change it.
Today I went back to my old placement to pick up some things I had left there. I was placed in a kindergarten room that was split 4/5 year olds. I expected a big hello, but I received so much more than that. 30 hugs, 30 smiles and laughter. One girl ran to me, sat in my lap, grasped my arm and said “I thought you were never going to visit us”.
Man, I’m a sucker and get attached to anyone. I was with these kids for about 5 minutes today and it changed my whole mood, my whole day. It alters your mood when you receive so much love and affection, even when it is from children.
I’m so happy to be where I am career wise right now. It’s been a real blessing.
